Do I have to get three estimates?

No. By law, you are not required to get more than one estimate. You have the right to choose the repair shop you trust, and your insurance company cannot dictate who does the work.

Can I choose which shop repairs my car?

Yes. You always have the right to select your own repair facility — your insurance company may make recommendations, but the choice is yours.

Do I have to go to an insurance company claims center?

Some insurance companies may request that you visit a drive-in claims center, but it is not required. You can leave your car with us and we’ll work with your insurance company to inspect it here.

How do deductibles work?

Deductibles vary depending on your coverage (collision, comprehensive, uninsured motorist, or hit-and-run). They typically range from $250 to $1,000. Ask your insurance agent which deductibles apply to your policy.

When do I pay my deductible?

Your deductible is due when you pick up your vehicle after repairs are complete. We accept cash, cashier’s checks, insurance drafts, and all major credit cards.

Can you “bury” or hide my deductible in the repair costs?

No. That practice is considered insurance fraud, and we will not risk involving our customers in fraudulent activity.

Why are repair estimates sometimes different?

Differences in repair estimates are common. A lower estimate may not include all of the necessary work. At Hi-Tech, we believe in writing a thorough estimate up front, so there are no surprises later. Our process includes “R&I” (Remove and Install) of moldings, emblems, and trim pieces to ensure the highest-quality paint and repair finish.

What does R&I mean?

R&I stands for “Remove and Install.” It refers to taking off trim pieces, emblems, and other items before painting, so the finish looks seamless and professional.

Will my car ever be the same after an accident?

Yes. Our goal is to return your vehicle to pre-accident condition, both in appearance and in factory specifications. We use the right repair procedures for your vehicle and back our work with a lifetime warranty, so you can drive with confidence.

How do I know the repairs will be done right?

Hi-Tech Auto Body is an I-CAR Gold Class Certified repair shop, and we back our work with both a lifetime repair warranty and a lifetime Spies Hecker paint warranty.

What will I drive while my vehicle is being repaired?

Hi-Tech Auto Body can provide a rental car while your vehicle is being repaired. If your insurance policy covers rental reimbursement, your insurance company will be billed directly.

Requirements for a rental:

  • Repairs requiring 8+ hours of labor (average is 24 hours)

  • Driver must be 21 years of age or older

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Comprehensive and collision insurance coverage

If you don’t have rental coverage, ask us about our low-rate rental options.

Will you use OEM or aftermarket parts?

We’ll review your options with you. Some insurance policies specify aftermarket or recycled parts, while others allow OEM. Hi-Tech can supply OEM, aftermarket, or recycled components, depending on your needs and budget.

Do repairs come with a warranty?

Yes. Every repair at Hi-Tech is backed by a lifetime repair warranty, along with a lifetime Spies Hecker paint warranty.
